Sub:Kitply Promote Domestic Violence: Wife Slap Husband ( Youtube Viedo)
Save Family Foundation (Regd) comprises families fighting against all laws that aggravate marital disputes; promote abuse of the elderly; violate basic human rights of men, women and children; precipitate family break-ups; and promote a fatherless society. Our goal is to ensure that human rights are upheld irrespective of gender and those laws and policies are based on the principle of true gender equality. Through this letter, we would like to bring the following important issues to your attention. Kitply that is being air on TV now-a-days where the newly wed wife slaps her husband is a highly disgusting and disappointing gesture by the company and tried to promote the Violent women. In spite of people's several request to them, no corrective actions had been taken till now. Kitply Promote Domestic Violence: Wife Slap Husband ( Youtube Viedo) Just you think, if some other company start making advertisements, where show husbands slap wife, will you keep mum? Not only in our country, but also in the whole world, any sort of violence between the spouses is considered as illegal and termed as Domestic Violence or Gender Violence. Depicting such a violence by a spouse on National Television is highly unacceptable and against the law of the land.
Why is it that the media makes such a huge hue and cry if a wife is hurt by the husband whereas such public display of a wife hitting her husband is looked at with a blind eye?
Everyone including the media persons know it that it is a truth in the society today increasing trend wives does commit violence upon their husbands, even as far as killing their husbands. Not just a common knowledge, but even official statistics of the National Crime Records Bureau and CSR proves that more than 56000 married men have committed suicide in the last 2 years as against only around 28000 married women. Not only the government has turned a blind eye towards the apathy of men in India, who pay 82% of the taxes to sustain the very same government, but even private companies like "Kitply" are playing instrumental roles in promoting such domestic violence against men by broadcasting such disgusting ads on national TV. With this sort of ignorance on your part, it is evident that such corporate are also responsible for the 56000 married men committing suicides, as you are encouraging the wives to hit and torture their husbands and justifying the same as alright because it is being telecast on the TV. We from Save family Foundation, Delhi, (Regd.), an organization dedicated to promoting gender equality and family harmony, are writing to you to ask you to immediately revoke the commercial promoting domestic violence against men.
To be specific, the ad shows a scenario where a timid man gets married. On their first night, his wife sits on the bed and the bed makes noise. Then, they both look below and see that the board bears the label "any ply". The wife says, "why did not you buy Kitply?" as she slaps him hard.
This is a very derogatory commercial that promotes physical, emotional and financial abuse against men. They may be considering it as some sort of a joke, but we would like to remind that violence is not funny be it against a man or a woman. We are sure you would find the same Commercial with reversed roles revolting, if the necessary strong actions not taken against them.
We urge you to revoke the commercial immediately and strong Legal Actions against them, who are promoting the Domestic Violence in our society.
Thanking you. With high regards, (Save Family Foundation) http://www.savefamily.org/
